Jikoni East Africa

A Culinary Journey Through East Africa!

Jikoni East Africa, nestled in St Paul’s, Bristol, celebrates the rich and diverse food cultures of East Africa. Founded by chefs Iman and James, Jikoni offers a tantalising array of dishes inspired by Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Tanzania.

Located at on Upper York Street, Jikoni serves up lunchtime tasting boards, salad bowls, and small plates, each meticulously crafted to reflect Iman’s Nairobi childhood memories and her mother’s Somali home cooking, complemented by James’s culinary expertise and passion for food.

Since 2019, Jikoni has delighted Bristolians at St Nick’s Market, Bath Christmas Market, and various pop-up restaurants across the city.

Beyond their culinary offerings, Jikoni is committed to community support and social enterprise. Partnering with the Black South West Network, they are launching a food bank program to provide 150 nutritious meals to those most affected by financial hardships. Additionally, Jikoni hosts pop-ups for aspiring chefs from black and minority backgrounds, nurturing food entrepreneurship through mentorship and support.
